A 1969 graduate of Murrah High School, she went to Presbyterian College, graduating in 1972. Subsequently, she obtained a Master’s of Library Science degree from Emory University. She worked for years as a high school librarian, but her gift was as a children’s librarian. Anne was an avid reader and loved all things dogs and knitting. Our mom had the best laugh and a dry sense of humor.
She was a devoted “Granny” and was frequently bemused by her 5 grandsons and one granddaughter (who she loved to spoil).
Anne leaves behind her three beloved daughters, Rebecca Bates (Brian), Florence, MS; Susannah Byrd (Jeff), Oxford, MS; and Caroline Peters, New Albany, MS; 6 adored grandchildren; her nieces and nephew; and her brothers and their wives Dr. John Evans (Amy), Breckenridge, CO and Dr. Robert Evans (Donna), Jackson MS.
Anne is predeceased by her mother and father.
A Memorial Service will be 4:00pm Friday April 22, 2022 at Briarwood Presbyterian Church in Jackson preceded by visitation from 2:30-4:00pm.
