Zach was a brother. He wasn't just a friend, but someone you could count own to bring joy to a room. I'll never forget the focus he put into anything he desired to achieve. The work ethic and time he spent on each moment. I'm sure I'm not the only one but I wish I could've had more conversations with him and enjoyed even more moments with him. I am sorry for your loss and just know I'm there for the Carter family because you are family to me as well.

You were full of life and such a go getter and you always strived to be the best person you could be. Since the day I met you I knew the kind of person you were. From baseball practice at LYB to going to the lake and flying squirrels games you were always a great friend! We would go fishing with hot dog buns from the concession stand after practice and games. You were a bright light and also took the time to make sure that your friends and family felt loved and important. You were a hell of man! God truly gained an angel when you decided it was time for you to go home. I will miss you buddy. I hope you are at peace and are happy up there. Until next time, rest easy! -The Taylor Family

Zach was an amazing teammate but he later became an amazing friend! I’ll never forget time spent in Ms.Browns science class where we became friends or the countless practices we shared or the many evenings spent playing basketball at U of R. It was deeply saddened to hear of his passing even life altering. My condolences to his loved ones! 

I wish I had known Zach better in high school, but the people who loved and cared for him are a testament to his character. Rest easy, friend. Much love to your family and friends

Zach was an incredible person. I am very saddened by this news. He helped me and some of my other friends shovel snow. He had a very good work ethic on and off the football field, and was just a really fun person to be around. To hear about this makes me extremely sad. 

Zach was an amazing person. He was a year ahead of me playing football at Freeman HS, and he was always the one to take time to teach and mentor the younger players when they needed help. I am in complete shock at this news and my thoughts and prayers are with his family. Rest In Peace Zach you will be very much missed. 

I was completely drained when i heard the news. I had only seen Zach once after high school when we graduated from freeman. He was really such a funny and lovable guy. I’ll never forget messing around in Latin class with him and talking about sports like football/basketball nba/nfl. I absolutely enjoyed those moments. Also the time we went to the flying squirrels game for a sports marketing class and we sat near third base, yelling at the third baseman trying to throw him off his game. That was a gem. I wish we stayed in touch more post high school and I’m going to miss him dearly. Much love to your family and friends Zach! They’re in my thoughts and prayers. Fly high. 

I only saw Zach once after we graduated from freeman in 2016 but I’ll never forget messing around in Latin class and talking about football/basketball. I always enjoyed those times. Almost every time we would greet each other he would say “let’s go Cabell” and it would always make me crack a smile. I wish i stayed in touch with him post high school, he was a great human with lovable qualities. Much love to you and your family. God bless 

I was so sad to hear the news of Zach’s passing. We weren’t really close, but shared mutual friends in high school so I saw him around a lot. Every single memory I have of him is positive. He was kind and intentional, the kind of person you wanted to talk to and felt safe around. I vividly remember him standing up for one of my best friends in our high school math class when some kids were making fun of her. He was a good person who looked out for everyone. I hope your family finds comfort and knows his memory will never be forgotten. Rest easy, Zach. 

I really didn’t know Zach past high school but I will never forget how much he smiled and how contagious it is. He’d sometimes see me in the hallways and walk me to class when I was oh so obviously listening to music(through headphones) but I would always pull them out to chat back. He’ll never be forgotten and I’m sending all of my prayers to y’all during this time💜

Zach is one of the very few people from high school I that I can only describe in a positive light.  He was so kind and pleasant to be around - I only recall him being happy. Zach and I had a couple classes together but I remember our economics class well because we became friendlier with each other. He constantly made me, our teacher, and plenty of others in our class laugh. We even both got in trouble for cheating on some graded assignment once, I remember him being really nice about it. He was a beautiful soul. RIP.

Zach was such a good kid. He made so many of my days at school and at football better. He made it a point to always start off the school day with a smile and some kind words. I can’t say enough good things about him. And I can’t put them into words on here. A special person taken too soon. Rest In Peace Zach. Love you man

We are shocked and saddened by this tremendous loss. Zach has always had a special place in our family, and was always considered an extended member. We cannot imagine the suffering you are going through and wish we could help in some way. Please know how much we loved and respected Zach, he was such a light. He was so good to our family, was always so respectful and showed so much kindness to both of the kids. He was like a sibling to both kids. A big protective brother to Merritt once Trent left for college, and a wonderful little brother to Trent that he loved to play/discuss football with. I still remember when Zach and Merritt went to visit Trent in college. He was a wonderful boy. May he Rest In Peace and always know how much he was loved. Sending you many many prayers of strength and comfort. 

Jaki, Rich, Ben & Josh, words cannot express how much my heart hurts.  My love and prayers  of strength to you and the family. We watched Zach grow up. From LYB baseball, family camping, through high school and the occasional visit after high school, when he came by with Deija and her friends. Zach was an exceptional young man, always respectable and looked out for my daughter. His humor and smile will never be forgotten. We love you and we are here for you.  Rest In Peace Bug Man. 

Richard & Jackie & family, words cannot begin to express the sadness felt hearing about Zach.  We have great memories of times we all spent together and watching him grow up. What a great young man, his presence will be greatly missed! Deepest condolences to you and your family. We pray strength for you all. We love you and are here in any way we can.
