Denton, William “Bill” Emmett, Jr., age 65, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, William E. Denton, Sr., and Pearl P. Denton. He is survived by his wife, Linda V. Denton and children, Chad Vitek (Christina) and Cori Denton and his four granddaughters, known as “Popa’s Girls,” Kaylin Harley, Joslyn Pike, Brooke Vitek, and Kelsey Vitek. Also, survived by his sister, Barbara Denton (David Lewis), his brother, Danny Denton (Kelley) and their families. Bill was the Founding Partner and General Manager of ESITECH, INC. He was known throughout the business industry for his knowledge, integrity, and work ethic. He was dedicated to his employees and partners and considered them his family. Forever generous with his time, advice, and love, Bill enjoyed nothing more than giving to others and putting smiles on their faces. Bill was an avid storyteller and could often be found sitting around a table full of food and lifelong friends reminiscing of the past. He was a gourmet cook and loved to critique and write restaurant reviews. A past president of the Richmond Writer’s Club, Bill wrote a cookbook, numerous short stories and was a published author of two books. A believer in prayers, Bill considered himself blessed. To his beloved friends and family, he was a blessing. “Some people just trot around the bases. I ran at full speed, slid into home plate, and said ‘What a Ride!’” The family will receive friends from 2 to 6 pm on Sunday, August 16 at the Parham Road Chapel of Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Rd. A service to celebrate Bill’s life will be held on Monday, August 17 at 11 am also at Woody Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Bill may be made to Fine Creek Baptist Church Prayer Garden, 3619 Huguenot Trail, Powhatan, Virginia 23139.
