

Berkey, William W. “Bill”, 92, of Richmond, joined his beloved wife Marilyn in the hands of the Lord, on December 23, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wes and Leota Berkey. He is survived by his children, William I. Berkey (Helen), David W. Berkey, and Alice Trivett (Herbert); grandsons, Matthew Trivett, Nathan Berkey and Drew Berkey; great grandson, Matthew Trivett, Jr. Bill was born in Danville, IL and grew up in Hoopeston, IL. His attendance at the University of Illinois was interrupted by service to his country in WWII. He was a proud member of the 99th Army Infantry Division from 1943 – 1946. He returned from the war to receive a degree in Metallurgical Engineering and started his career at Chanute AFB. He and Marilyn moved to Richmond in 1954 where he began a 29 year career with Reynolds Metals Company. He was a proud member of the American Society of Metals and the American Legion. In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions be made in his name to Wounded Warriors. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4pm Sunday, December 27, 2015 at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Rd. where services will be held 11am Monday. December 28th.
