Walter was married to Betty Jo White on June 4, 1949 He served in the Merchant Marines and the US Army during and immediately after World War II.
Walter graduated from Princeton High School and went on to receive a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute now Virginia Tech.
Walter started his career as an HVAC equipment salesman for Trane Company and eventually opened Walter Lambert and Associates, his own consulting engineering firm. Walter and Betty also owned a Stretch and Sew franchise store.
He was a Licensed Professional Engineer in the states of Virginia and West Virginia as well as a member of the Rotary and a member of the Colonial Place Christian Church
Walter had a passion for golf and investing as well as helping his church.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Jo Lambert; daughter Judith Lynn Fain (Robert); son Steven Walter Lambert (Shirley); grandsons Jonathan Fain and Nathan Fain as well as his sister Lula Baker.
The family will receive family and friends at Colonial Place Christian Church, 1200 North Parham Road, Richmond from 6:00pm - 8:00pm, Thursday, August 24, 2017.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30pm , Saturday, August 26,2017 at The First Christian Church in Princeton, West Virginia with a visitation for family and friends one hour before.
