Verda Lee Turner

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wallace Franklin and Ruth Hartsell McCallister Rood; two brothers, Jerry and Wallace “Brother”; a sister, Glenna; daughter, Donna Brown; and son – in – law, Brian Sterner.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Donald Lee Turner, the love of her life; children, Lisa Green (Dan) of Jacksonville, FL, Teresa Lacy of Arlington, TX, Pamela Sterner of Sumter, S.C, Ruth Farriss (Stephen) of Richmond, VA; 14 Grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren; sister, Judy Aliff (Alvin) of Huntington, WV.; and a large circle of extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until service time at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave, Richmond, VA 23231. Interment will follow in Washington Memorial Park, 6217 Memorial Drive, Sandston, VA, 23150. Food and fellowship to follow at the Reception Center at Nelsen Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Alzheimers Association in her name.
