Timothy McKnight Jr.

Timothy McKnight, Jr. departed this life October 4, 2014, after a long illness. He was 70 years old. Mr. McKnight was born on May 26,1944, in Asheville, NC, to the late Timothy McKnight Sr., and Roxie McKnight. He graduated from Steven Lee High School and served in the United Stated Marine Corps from 1966 to 1968 and was honorably discharged. Timothy McKnight moved to Richmond, VA in the early 70’s. He retired in 2009 from the City of Richmond and enjoyed his remaining time at home with his loving wife. He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Althea McKnight; mother, Roxie McKnight; daughter, Amy Gilliam(David); sons, Keith McKnight(Jennifer) and Roderick Brown (Walterina); devoted daughter, Kimothy Benham(Corey); nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, James McKnight (Yvette); two sisters, Lillie Trent and Mary Lefeged; two sisters-n-law, Carolyn Howe(Christopher) and Gail Martin (Ernest); and brothers-n-law, Thomas Hatchett and Altonio Ewards; one uncle, James Jones; and father-n-law, Alfonso Edwards; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. Mr. McKnight will be celebrated in a private ceremony October 11, 2014.
