Roy Franklin Rickman

He retired after 39 years as an elevator mechanic and several years as an elevator inspector. He was a member of IUEC Local 51 and coached Sandston Jets Football and Sandston Little League Baseball for many years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Genni; parents, Edward and Beulah; and brother, Buck.

He is survived by his children, Bucky (Mary) Wickham, Tracey (David) Frye, Mike (Kathy) Payne, Patti Rickman (Eddie) and Jeff (Michelle) Payne; grandchildren, BJ, Ashley, Amanda, Tabatha, Jake, Crystian, Zach, Blake, Gus, Carter and Reid; six great-grandchildren; and siblings, Nita Davis, Oscar (Joyce) Rickman and Betty (Frank) DeLuke.

The family will receive friends Sunday, September 17, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA 23231 where a celebration of life will immediately follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
