Rose Marie Richmond

Rose Marie Richmond, age 79, of Sandston, VA, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 21, 2017. She was born October 17, 1938 in Fork Union, VA to the late Harry A. and Emma T. Moon. She was a retired cashier from Pantry Pride and a career mother. She was loved by all. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Bobby Eugene Richmond; and two sons, Danny Moon and Tommy Phillips. She is survived by two sons, Roger Phillips (Julie) of Salisbury, NC and Timmy Phillips of Varina; three daughters, Shelby Minor (Jimmy) of New Kent, Shelia Mercier (Keith) of Quinton, Sheree Purcell (Gary) of Sandston; one bonus daughter, Patricia Cantrell (Brandy Meanley) of Mechanicsville; one brother, Jimmie Moon (Carol) of Chester; 11 special grandchildren, John Parker (Ellen), Dawn Marie Land (Donnie), Jennifer McCurrach, Ashley Phillips, Kristen Phillips, Kaylin Blankenship (David), Kelsey Bailey (Kris), Emily Minor (Brian), Cheyenne Purcell, Daniel Phillips, and Shaun Mercier; 12 special great-grandchildren, Evan and Hannah Land, Ocean and Harbor Phillips, River, Finn and Baya Blankenship, Makena and Grayson Huband and Amiya Whitlow, Kaylin McCurrach, and Bethany Johnson; as well as many other family and friends. The family will receive friends Tuesday, Dec. 26, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA 23231 where services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 27, at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in Washington Memorial Park.
