Robert Lee Bowles Jr.
September 1, 1939 – November 16, 2024

Robert Lee Bowles, JR., 85, 0f Sandston, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 16, 2024.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian C. Bowles; and parents, Wallace Lee and Bertha Elizabeth Smith.
He served in the Army and was a Automotive Mechanic for Colonial Ford, and was a member of Hardy Central Baptist Church.
Robert enjoyed the farm life, raising cows, plowing fields, planting his garden, spending time with his kids, grandkids and greatgrandkids. He enjoyed watching Church Services on TV and reading the bible. He also loved some good old country music, whether on the radio, TV or a good old fashioned record player. He liked to go to Buckingham County for Family picnics and gatherings and hunting with extended family.
He is survived by his sons, James Douglas Bowles, Sr. (Tammy) and Michael Wallace Bowles, Sr.; grandchildren, Tara Payne (Alex), Shannon Martin (John), Michael Wallace Bowles, Jr., and James Douglas Bowles, Jr.; great grandkids, Brandon Bowles, Jacob Bowles and Savannah Martin.
The family will receive friends from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 pm, Monday, November 25 at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave where a funeral service will be held 12 pm, Tuesday, November 26.
Burial will follow in Washington Memorial Park.
A Special Thank You to Wendy Bowles for the love, care and endless support she has shown during this difficult time, and also to Tracey Bailey & Joanie Hynst of At Home Care Hospice for the love, support and compassion they showed Robert and the family during this time.
