BROWN, Rives James, 89, of Richmond, passed away on December 9, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray L. Brown; and son, Larry Brown. She is survived by her daughters, Sandee Sumner (Jim), Alice Morris (P.J.) and Peggy Maquet (Eric); her grandchildren, Spencer Ellington, Windy Aleshire, Stuart Ellington, Matt Brown, Andy Brown, Liz Morris, Aggie Morris and Sam Maquet; great-grandchildren, Jay and Holly Windle; and her brother, William Redd (Dani).
Rives was born in Danville, Va., and grew up in Northern, Va. She attended Washington and Lee High School and James Madison University. She was a founding member of St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church, and served in various capacities throughout the years. She will be missed by her many friends and family. She never met a stranger. The family wishes to thank her many friends and the caring staff at Beth Sholom Home. Services will be held at 11 a.m. onTuesday, December 15, 2015, at St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church, 10627 Patterson Ave., Richmond, Va. 23238.
