BOYD, Richard Edmunds Jr., 91, a retired business consultant with Business Records Corporation died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Mar.31, 2014. He was born on August 21, 1922 at Stuart Circle Hospital. He served in the Army for three years in the Pacific corridor during World War II. He graduated from Handley High School in Winchester, VA and attended Shepherd and Richmond Colleges. He was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed working in his yard at his homes in Richmond and in Bedford County. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Edmunds Boyd and Rose Leech Boyd and sister, Mildred Coles Boyd. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Peggy Porter Boyd, two daughters and their husbands, Mary Ruth Boyd Monfalcone and husband CAPT Michael Monfalcone, USN, of Mechanicsville, Kate Porter Boyd Allen and husband Hunter Allen of Bedford; and five grandchildren, Kathryn Edmunds Monfalcone, Caroline Boyd Monfalcone, Thomas Hunter Allen, Jack Porter Allen, and Susannah Rose Allen. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 2, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Rd. and at other times at the home. A graveside service will be held at Hollywood Cemetery on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at 2:00pm. The officiant will be The Rev. J. Fletcher Lowe, Jr, Rector Emeritus of the Holy Comforter Episcopal Church.
