A 1973 graduate of Troy High School (MT), she later obtained her Associates Degree and was employed as a registered nurse. For several years, she volunteered with the Providence Forge Volunteer Rescue Squad and served as EMS Captain at Quinton Volunteer Fire & EMS. She enjoyed crafting, crocheting items for those she loved, and baking cakes for special family events. Her greatest enjoyment came from her children and grandchildren. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Melba Gilbert, and two sons, William Earl Pearson and Shaun Patrick Pearson.
She is survived by her daughter, Sonya Pierce-Wilson; son-in-law, Andrew Wilson, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Tamarah Pearson; grandchildren, Colin Pierce, Victoria Pearson, Isabella “Izzy” Wilson, Alexandra Pearson, Chloe Wilson, and Dakota Wilson; sister, Terrie Franke Kyriss; brother-in-law, David Kyriss; and nephews, Jeff Franke and Clayton Kyriss.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 27, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA 23231, where a memorial service will be held Thursday, July 28, at 2 p.m.
