Nancy E. Walton

Nancy E. Walton, 92, of Richmond died peacefully at home with her family by her side on Monday, December 19, 2011. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Ellen and Robert Hester; ten brothers and sisters; two husbands, John Walter Hicks and Joseph O. Walton; one daughter, Carol Moore; a granddaughter, Susan Davis; and great-grandson, Ryan Davis. She is survived by three daughters, Jackie H. Downer, Kathy H. Jeter and Nancy Harding; eleven grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; also numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Walton worked at Thalhimer’s for 40 years, and was a member of Patterson Avenue Baptist Church. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday (today) at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Road, where a funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday. Her final resting place will be at Greenwood Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
