Mary Louise Murray Fertitta, 93, of Richmond passed into the arms of God on Tuesday, January 13th, 2015. She was a devoted and loving daughter, sister, wife and mother. Waiting for her in heaven were her Father, Mother and loving husband, Clement Joseph “Bud” Fertitta, Sr, along with her brothers, Lee Roy Murray, Sr., Charles Murray, her beloved sister Betty Jane Murray Emmick; and grandson, Clement J. Fertitta, III. Mary was a native of Houston, TX who came to Richmond with her husband who worked for Reynolds Aluminum can division. She enjoyed life and spending time with her family, loved to sew and do arts and crafts, play tennis, and was involved in community service. She was a long time member of St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church. She is survived by her five children, four sons C.J. Fertitta, Jr. (Lorie), Anthony L. Fertitta, Terry M. Fertitta, Sr. (Dianne), John R. Fertitta, Sr. (Natalie), and daughter Ann Marie Fertitta Turnage; daughter-in-law Martha Fertitta; 15 grandchildren and many great and great-great grandchildren. She will truly be missed by all the loving family and friends she leaves behind. Special thank you to her loving caregivers who took extraordinary care of Mary - Wanda, Nancy D., Margaret, Nancy B., Barbara, and Clara as well as the staff at Hospice of Virginia for their care and support – thank you Dr. Mitchell, Kelly, Dante and Lisa B. Her family will receive friends at Parham Chapel Woody Funeral Home on Friday, January 16, 2015 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. A mass of Christian funeral celebrating her life will be held at St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church, 2700 Dolfield Dr. on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 10am with visitation 45 minutes prior. Interment Houston, TX. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church.
