Macie Evelyn Palmer

Palmer, Macie Crouch, 95, of Highland Springs, passed away on November 30, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, George B. Palmer; four brothers; and four sisters. Macie is survived by her children, Katherine P. Buckner (Bob), and Ron Palmer (Sandi); grandchildren, Lori Westbrook (Dave Townsend), Paul Westbrook (GiGi), Katy Palmer, and Rebecca Palmer; great-grandchildren, Jeffrey and Michelle Townsend; brother, Stuart Crouch; sisters-in-law, June Crouch, and Theresa Crouch (best friend); special caregivers, Sherry Hicks, and Stephanie Bickett; and many extended family and friends. Macie was a lifelong member of Highland Springs United Methodist Chuch. While Macie attended business school and worked in the professional world for a few years her chosen profession was being a Mom. When you think of her, you think of love, strength, determination, and someone who was always there. A true friend. She loved dancing, playing games, fishing, and sitting around the table, telling stories, laughing and eating good food with family. Her truest enjoyment was being involved in the lives of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is a true role model and inspiration for her family. Mom and her impish grin will be sorely missed. The family will receive friends from 2-8 p.m. on Friday, December 4 at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave, Richmond, VA 23231. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 5 at Highland Springs United Methodist Church, 22 N Holly Ave, Highland Springs, VA 23075.
