LONG, Louis Lee Sr., on the morning of Sunday, August 25, 2013, the sun rose for the first time in almost 91 years without Louis Lee Long Sr. there to celebrate the beginning of a new day. Born on November 6, 1922 in Danville, Va., he joined the Navy in WWII flying the Dauntless dive bomber and many other aircraft against the enemy. Graduating from UVA as a chemical engineer, he worked for Philip Morris continuing his Naval career for 22 years. A National Rosaraian and 33rd degree Mason, he would gather up his family for travel adventures that are cherished memories for several generations.
