It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Lonnie Felton Parrish, Sr. (79) of Mechanicsville, VA on Friday, October 26, 2018 surrounded by his wife and family after a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Lonnie Franklin and Iola Foster Davis Parrish; sisters, Ann Benson and Carolyn Garrett; and his son, Pascal Lonnie Parrish. Lonnie is survived by his wife of 54 years, Frances Gallagher Parrish; children, Lonnie Felton, Jr., Anthony Dale (Julie), Barry Franklin, and Debra Parrish Carson (Frankie); two devoted grandsons, Forrest and Fischer Carson; three granddaughters; three great grandchildren; sister, Linda Parrish Hall (Buddy); and a host of sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and nieces and nephews. Lonnie was born in Franklinton, NC on September 22, 1939. He was raised in Richmond, VA with his sisters, Ann and Carolyn. He served in the Marine Corps for four years, and retired with 20 years’ service from Philip Morris (Park Five Hundred). Lonnie and Fran met when she was 14 and have never been apart until his death. He loved his family deeply and worked hard to provide for them. His unwavering devotion to care for his son Lonnie, Jr. (Bubby) is his greatest tribute. Lonnie loved his Lord, Jesus Christ, and now his faith has become sight. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by his family. The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 31, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S.
