He was born to the late Leslie Dyker Walton and Alice Sherman Walton, November 7, 1935 in Linworth, Ohio. Tom proudly served 20 years in the United States Air Force, achieving the rank of Chief Master Sargent, and retired from Langley Air Force Base. He married Rosa Richardson Bell in 1984 and they resided in Richmond, VA.
Tom was an accomplished entrepreneur and businessman. After a long career with AT&T, Tom and Rosa founded Walton & Walton, Associates in 1984, a communications and training consulting firm that remained in continuous business for 28 years.
Tom was an active member of the Derbyshire Baptist Church and Sunday school. He was also an active supporter of the American Heart Association, enjoyed playing golf, and was devoted to his family and friends.
Tom is survived by his loving wife & sweetheart, Rosa Richardson Walton, previous wife Shirley Savee Walton, and 6 children: Steve, Adrienne, Tom, Ken, Tammy and Bambi. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson, his sister Nancy Wurtz, and brother Ivan Walton.
In Lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Wounded Warriors Project.
A memorial service will be held at 2pm Monday, May 19th, at the Derbyshire Baptist Church, located at 8800 Derbyshire Road, Richmond, VA. The family will receive friends at the church following the service.
