Laura Mae Lee Cone

Laura Mae Lee Cone, 84, of Glen Allen, passed away on September 24, 2014. She was born on March 21, 1930 in Dewitt, to the late Harold Sidney Lee and Gertrude Beville Lee. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Douglas Cone, Jr. and her siblings, Charles Lee, John Lee, Harold Sidney Lee, Jackie Williams, and Pat Neill Dulaney.

Mrs. Cone was a graduate of Richmond Polytechnic Institute and majored in costume design. She was an established tailor and owned and operated the Richmond based custom shirt company Creery Ltd. for over fifteen years. She was an active member of Lakeside United Methodist Church, the Methodist Women Fellowship, and taught Sunday school to children for over a decade. She is survived by her three sons, their spouses, and her eight grandchildren: Doug and Anita Cone of Montpelier, and their children Christopher and Brandi; Donald and Siobhan Cone of Glen Allen and their children Hannah and Rachel; and Dale and Sharon Cone of Midlothian and their children Matthew, Mitchell, Michael and Annelise.

Visitation will take place Sunday, September 28, 2pm – 4pm and 6pm - 8pm Woody Funeral Home, 1771 Parham Road, Richmond, VA. A funeral service will be held at Lakeside United Methodist Church, 2333 Hilliard Road, Henrico, VA on Monday, September 29, 2014 at 12:00 noon. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
