Kenneth Lee Hamilton, Jr., 68, also known as “Big Ken” and “Honey” by his wife, passed away on July 26, 2014. Mr. Hamilton was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Hamilton and sister, Shirley Marie Hamilton. He was a member at Monument Heights Baptist Church. Kenneth was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He fell in love with the girl next door, the love of his life, and was married for almost 49 years. Mr. Hamilton was a fan of the Washington Redskins and spent many years coaching little league football and baseball in Highland Springs. He is survived by his wife, Dolores Hamilton; son, Kenneth Lee Hamilton III (Heather); daughter, Laura Burton (Byron); grandchildren, Brittany, Caitlin, John, and Micah; father, Kenneth Lee Hamilton, Sr. (Kathleen); sister, Deborah Sale; as well as many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. The family would like to thank all those who have provided support and comfort during this time. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Avenue, Richmond, VA 23231, where a funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Washington Memorial Park, Sandston, VA.
