I first met Julie in 4th grade.  She sat directly behind me and was the most audacious girl I had ever met.  She remained bold and candid in spirit and force.  Peace and love to you Julie

I am so sorry and saddened to hear the news of Julie's passing. I knew Julie when we went to Waterman Elementary School together. She stayed overnight at my house a time or two before the family moved to Staunton. We talked on the phone a few times after that, but then we lost touch with each other.

You were wise beyond your years. I never knew what a friend even if It's just  FBf friend. You fought hard for a what you believed in and AUTISM was a daily battle. I cent believe you are no longer here.  At leased you are not in mental pain and anguish any more

Julie was my one of my very first friends. At the young age of 10, during a sleepover at her home (one of many), she shared the Gospel with me. She taught me the prayer of salvation. I remember praying it with her that night. 

Julie and I lost touch after our teenage years, but I began looking for her again in my late 30's. Finally, a few years ago, and thanks to Facebook, we reconnected. I found that my childhood friend lived only 10 miles from me!

I was grateful for Julie Zimmerman. She was a brilliant, passionate, tenacious woman who lived for her children. It was an honor to know her. Rest In Peace, my friend.

U were and will always be loved. May u find peace with your mom.

We were so saddened to learn of Julie's passing at such a young age. Our fondest memory was of her around age 4 at hunting camp, entertaining us all by singing and dancing on the kitchen table...such a precious soul. Blessings of love to you and your family for peace and comfort.

Just wanted to let you know that your family is here for you during your time of great sorrow.  We did not have the pleasure of being around Julie much due to everyone's busy lives and living in different areas, but I know she was so very loved by her family and now is resting peacefully with her mom.  Stay strong and let us know if there is anything we can do for you or your family.  Peace and comfort be with you during this difficult time.

Julie~ I hadn't known you long before I knew I liked you. The reason for that is because of your upfront honesty. We strongly disagreed politically and because we could have a good conversation and never argue is what I admire about you and always will. You opened up your arms and your heart to me, for that I am eternally grateful. Everything that I told you I liked in your home you told me to take it, I didn't, I just stopped telling you because I knew you would offer it to me. My sister Leslie is the only other person that has ever treated me so well. I can't accept that you're gone, I will accept that you're dancing in the sky. Hold on tight to that crown Jesus made for you while you dance. I can imagine how beautiful it is, overflowing with precious gems of every color and ten times as many of your favorite. If l were granted one wish, it would be to talk, and to hug you, and say that I love you.

I grew up with Julie in Staunton, VA. She loved this town and the people who call it home. She was a sweet, beautiful girl and a dear friend. I will miss her. I love you, Jules. You know how much you meant to me and how often we supported each other over the years. Everyone down here remembers your wonderful laugh! It echoes still in the recesses of my memory. You are forever young, dear girl. I will always remember standing in the kitchen at your parents' house, drinking wine, listening to music, laughing with you and your mother and our friends, and savoring the joys of youth. God speed. Julie is an amazing lady, always fighting for others. She will be dearly missed. Thoughts and prayers for the family.
