She was preceded in death by her son, Ernest L. Brown, and grandson, Dalton W. Brown.
Joyce retired from the Virginia Department of Taxation as an account clerk.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Linda B. Newcomb (James), Kenneth M. Brown (Brenda), Kevin W. Brown (Gwen); grandchildren, Trey Browder, Ryan Ervin, Amanda Staton, Matthew Brown; and great grandchildren, Krysten Brown, Hope Brown, Harris Browder, Katelin Browder, Sydney Ervin, Tyler Ervin, Layla Staton, Waverly Staton, Ryan Staton.
A visitation for Joyce will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 South Laburnum Avenue, Richmond, VA 23231, where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at 12 p.m. Interment will follow in Washington Memorial Park.
