He is survived by his wife, Claire Morris, sons Jason Morris (Brenda), Jeff Morris (Allison), step-son, Tye Decker, mother, Phyllis Kokoruda, sisters Karen Morris (Darla), Pam Sullivan, (Kevin) and Trish Fitterer, (Mike), grandchildren Jordan, Hannah, Kimber and Quinn as well as many loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and dear friends.
Johnny will be remembered as a loving husband, father, son, brother and dear friend. He was a key player in the Richmond music scene as one of the area’s most talented drummers. He served proudly in the United States Army for 10 years and afterward started his 30-year career in logistical planning with Great Coastal trucking which now is Heartland Express.
Johnny was an honorable man and standup guy. He will be sorely missed by all who were touched by his generosity and kindness. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks for the outpouring of love and generosity from family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider contributing to the Boys and Girls Club of Metro Richmond.
