John Junker of Henrico County passed peacefully on Sunday Nov 5, 2023.
Beloved father, husband, and active member of his church, he was a boundless source of energy, determination, and good humor to friends and family.
Born and raised in Denver, Colorado to Doris Moline and Raymond Valentine Junker he quickly found employment in law enforcement as a deputy in Maricopa County, Arizona. He later went on to enlist in the United States Air Force and served both actively and in the Reserves as a Loadmaster and aircrew member on large military transport planes, delivering cargo and personnel to countries around the world and during times of crisis, including Operation Desert Storm.
In later years, he started and operated a singularly successful local telecommunications company, providing commercial and residential network solutions to clients within the DMV and beyond.
His favorite hobbies included consuming the latest David Baldacci thriller, Denver Broncos football and long walks with his dog, Murphy.
He is survived by his two children, Annie and Ted, and his wife, Pam, as well as his sister, Virginia Martin, and their family.
A memorial service will be held at Woody Funeral Home Parham Road Chapel on Sunday, January 21st at 3 pm.
