A graduate of Douglas Freeman High School, Chris attended Virginia Tech and graduated from RPI with a degree in mechanical engineering. He dedicated his entire working life to Catlett-Johnson Corp., retiring as President in 2000. Chris was a member of many professional associations, including ASHRAE, serving as President for 2 years; AGC; ASPE; ASA; and a Board Member for the Luther Memorial School. Chris enjoyed golf, cheering on his beloved Hokies and even the Redskins. He was particularly proud of his hole-in-one, chalking it up to luck rather than talent.
Chris is survived by his wife of 50 years, Carolyn C. Hildebrand; son, Jeffrey; daughter, Joanna; grandchildren, Noah and Brendan; brother, James (Lynne); nephews, Matthew (Jerri) and Benjamin (Bonnie) Hildebrand; and niece, Ashley Jones. He is also survived by many cousins, golfing buddies and friends.
