John "Sonny" Couch Jr

John “Sonny” Couch, Jr., 73, of Center Cross, passed away January 9, 2014. He was the son of the late Sybil & John Couch. Mr. Couch served in the United States Air Force on active duty for a year and then served in the Virginia Air National Guard for 30+ years. He served with the 192nd Fighter Wing. He was a Flight Chief and held the rank of Master Sergeant. Sonny loved his SHB river community and friends. "Make a pour, hit the beach, watch the Babes, do a rodeo, loop the compound and call it a day. Time to hit the chair." Absolutely... Peace! He is survived by his sisters; Phyllis Couch Deavers and Cassandra (Cassy) Harper; brother, Joseph (Jody) Harper; three nieces, two nephews, three cousins, seven great-nieces and nephews, one great-great nephew, and three great-great nieces. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 12, 2014 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Avenue, Richmond, VA. A graveside service will be held in Oakwood Cemetery, 3101 Nine Mile Road, Richmond, VA 23223 at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 13, 2014.
