Jean Rush Robinson

Robinson, Jean Rush, 81 of Richmond, VA, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, November, 8, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Annie Lou Rush; her sister, Irene Hathcock; her son, Gregory, and her infant daughter, Tracy. She is survived by her husband, Mason; daughter, Danita Harper (Scott); son, Stephen (Tracy); and four grandchildren, Tyler and Renee Harper, Abby and Mason Robinson; sisters, Peggy Barber and Margaret Greene (Barney) and numerous cherished nieces and nephews. Jean was a native of NC and graduated from high school and college with honors. She met Mason while both were students at Wingate College and were married the year after graduation. In June 2023, they celebrated their 61st anniversary. In 1968 they moved to Richmond, VA and joined Third Church where she was a member for 55 years. She lovingly served in Presbyterian Women circles, as a Sunday school teacher, and in many other capacities. Jean had many hobbies that included bowling, bridge, volunteering, and looked forward to her annual extended family vacation to Holden Beach. Jean will long be remembered for her ever-present smile, positive attitude, warm heart, joy for life, and love for family and friends. A celebration of life for Jean will be held at Community West Church, 2340 Pump Road, Henrico, VA 23233 on her 82nd birthday, Sunday, December 3, 2023, at 3:00 pm. Following the service, everyone is welcome to join the family for a reception at the church.
