James Jacob Spencer Sr.
July 1, 1934 – April 2, 2016

SPENCER, James “Buddy” Jacob, Sr., of Henrico died peacefully at his home on April 2, 2016. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 57 years, Joyce Anne Blankenship Spencer. He is survived by one sister, Delores Lammey; two sisters-in-law, Janice Jackson and Carol Taylor and his loving and devoted children; daughter, Judy Lewis (Steve); daughter, Jackie Akers (Robert); son, James “Jamie” Spencer (Kim); and daughter, Jennifer Gallini (Mike); ten grandchildren; Steven, Jake and Lindsey Lewis, Erin Cameron, Ryan (Meghan) Cameron, Jessica, James (Jay), and Justin Spencer, Adam and Anne Marie Gallini; and one great-grandson, Harrison Cameron. He is also survived by four half-sisters and by numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Spencer was a graduate of Powhatan High School (Class of 1953), and a longtime and very active member of Skipwith Baptist Church. He worked for Best Products, Inc. before starting his own accounting firm, Spencer Associates of Virginia. Mr. Spencer was also a member of Joppa Lodge No. 40.
His remains rest at the Parham Chapel of Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Road, where the family will receive friends from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at Skipwith Baptist Church, 1900 Skipwith Road. Entombment Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
