James Michael Fox Jr. (Jay) 47, of Henrico County went to be with his Lord on October 10 2015. Jay was employed by Aerocare Home Medical as a Service Equipment Technician and is remembered for his dedication and commitment to all of his patients. He is survived by his son Colby who was the center of his universe and with whom he possessed an unbreakable bond; his mother, Pamela Davis of North Chesterfield (Linq), seven brothers and sisters, Charles Edward and Gary of Sandston VA, Becky of Prospect VA (Jim), Chip of Powhatan VA (Sherry), Charlene of Boston MA (Burt), Heather of Powhatan VA (Federica), Jason of Powhatan (Vicky); 12 nieces and nephews, a great niece and nephew and several cousins, a host of Aunts and Uncles, scores of other friends and relatives and 3 very dear and close friends, Albert Doggett, Brad Carter and Bonnie Lacy. He is preceded in death by his step father Charles Davis, sister Tracey, great grandmother Frances Matthews, grandparents William and Margaret Floyd, great aunt Muriel Steiniger, and an uncle, Robert Floyd. Jay was loved by many and he loved many. He never met a person he didn’t like and made friends easily, friends who were never temporary but always permanent. An avid sports fan, Jay routinely supported the football team of Varina High School, from which he graduated in 1987. He bled orange and navy blue, the colors of his favorite college sports teams, the Virginia Cavaliers and he was a loyal and staunch fan of the New York football Giants. Jay’s departure from the trials and tribulations of this world was sudden, but he now occupies that mansion which his Lord has prepared for him. We are all blessed to have known him and better people because of him. Viewing will be held Tuesday October 13 from 2 until 4 and again from 6-8 at Nelson’s Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave, Richmond. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday October 14, 10am at Oakwood Memorial Baptist Church, 3100 Gay Avenue, Richmond. Service will led by the Rev. Kenneth W. Webb and Jay’s brother-in-law the Rev. Jim Schwerdtfeger. Interment will be at Westhampton Memorial Park, Richmond.
