James N. Carter Jr.

James N. Carter, Jr. 93, passed away on April 1, 2014. He was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine K. Carter. James graduated from Beaverdam High School in 1939. He was a member of Fairmount Memorial Baptist Church and retired from the Crawford Manufacturing Company. He served his country proudly in the US Navy and was a WWII Veteran. James loved sports and working outside in his yard. Left to cherish his memory is his Daughter Agnes D. Seay; grand children, Michael E. (Elaine), Donna M., and Linda D. Seay; great-grandchildren, Thomas W. and Bryan E. Seay; brother, Nelson Carter; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends. Visitation will take place Friday, April 4, 2014 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Saturday, April 5, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. All services will take place at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave. Richmond, VA 23231. Interment will be at Washington Memorial Park, Sandston VA. Condolences may be left for the family at www.nelsenrichmond.com.
