Jack was born on September 3, 1931, in Palacios, TX, to Ruth and J.A. Partain. After graduation from Palacios High School in 1949 he attended Wharton Junior College until enlisting in the Navy in January 1951. He proudly served on the USS Ingersoll during the Korean War. During his time in service, he married Jennette (Jeanne) Beard in 1953. After the Navy, he enrolled at the University of Texas graduating in 1961 with a degree in Business Administration. Although his career brought Jack and his family to Virginia, he remained a proud and true Texan at heart.
Jack is survived by his sons, Joe Partain of Fredericksburg, VA, and Jim Partain (Kathy) of Springfield, VA; his sister Carol Ann Beard (Donnie) of Port LaVaca, Texas; three grandchildren, Cory Partain, William Partain, and Grace Partain; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife Jennette Partain, his parents Mr. and Mrs. J.A. Partain, brother Robert Partain, and daughter-in-law Stephanie Partain.
Jack will be remembered fondly by his family and friends as a loving father and grandfather, an avid sports fan, and for his generous heart, quick smile, his keen ability to “never meet a stranger” and his love of running, golf, dancing, and singing.
A special thank you to the Bowling Green Health & Rehabilitation Center for their love, care, and support.
