Jack Evan Culbertson, age 85, peacefully went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, July 26, 2016, in his home in Henrico, VA. Born on January 13, 1931, to a large family in Covington, Kentucky, he was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and four sisters, as well as his first wife, Ollie Mae. He is survived by his loving wife, Patsy; daughter, Bonnie Sohn (Chuck); son, Mark Culbertson (Maribeth); and Patsy’s three daughters, Jerri Leake, Gina Peterson (Teddy), and Angela Hale. He was a loving and proud “Grandpa” to Emily Robertson (Ashley), Wain Sohn (Amanda), Evan Culbertson (Tara), and Megan Culbertson. He was known as “Beepaw” to Patsy’s grandchildren, and great grandchildren, Erika Rodgers (C.J.), and daughter Taylor, Jackie Leake, and Rob Oleson, and son Colton, Racquel Leake, Emi Peterson, and Ben Peterson. He was “GreatPa Jack” to the apple of his eye, Olivia Robertson. He served his country proudly in the Army, was a machinist by trade, and was an active member of Sandston Baptist Church. He was a good friend to many, never met a stranger, loved to laugh and have fun, and the patriarch to a loving and grateful family. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 29, 2016 from 6-8pm at Nelsen’s on Laburnum. A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at 11am at Nelsen’s on Laburnum. Interment will follow at Washington Memorial Park. To honor Jack’s wishes, memorial contributions may be sent to Sandston Baptist Church.
