I was always very quiet and awkward in high school, but you would always reach out and say hi to me with a big smile every time we saw one another. It may not sound like much but those moments were like a glimmer of sunshine on a gray canvas to me, and the adorable posts that you made with your daughter on Instagram had the same effect. Thank you for always being yourself, and such a sweet loving person. I will carry a piece of you in my heart always.

My sweet girl, Mommy was not ready to say goodbye; to say I miss you is an understatement. 

You are my first true love! I remember choosing you & simultaneously being terrified because I knew how much growing I still had ahead of me. I remember the tight ball you became when the external situations were too much for you, that tight ball was traded for a voice that spoke clearly even when others didn't know how to process your true feelings. The many up & downs a mother/daughter relationship face plus the unique challenges of our family; our love endured. 

I miss the random early morning FaceTime calls with you & Mila (I miss seeing her naked booty flashing across the phone as you were getting her dressed), I miss the phone calls from you when you were on your lunch break from work - usually at Target saying I really shouldn't...mom it's on sale...Mila will love this, and countless late night calls where you poured your heart out to me (some of those times with friends in the car all taking turns saying hi as you told me how much you love me & you'd call me later).
 
I am so grateful I was given the opportunity to be called Mommy by you, even more grateful that we said it all...we had all the challenging conversations, all of the tears...and TONS & TONS of laughter shared. Your post on FB sums us up best; "I didn't ask for perfect, I asked God for something real...and he gave me you."

To the family of Imani,  I never had the pleasure of meeting Imani although I met her in spirit through Stella and Markita and the love in their hearts for her.  I send my deepest and most sincere condolences in your lost.  There is probably nothing harder to bear than the lost of a child or a mother, however I know in my heart of hearts that the angels were rejoicing in the return of one of their own.  Please know that you and your entire family are in my heart, thoughts and prayers as you go through this season of grief.

I know you were a great friend to my daughter, Samantha Foltz.  You are loved deeply to this day. You will be missed everyday. Your loss is profound.   The impact you had will live on.   

Imani was my best friend and my rock. She had a beautiful soul and was there for me through all the good and bad. It seems like just yesterday we were cuddling on my couch reminiscing over our crazy adventures together. I miss you more and more every day and will cherish the memories we have together always.

I remember the very first time I met my new granddaughter Imani and her daughter Mila my new great-granddaughter.  It was at my granddaughter Samaria's Highschool Graduation and Graduation Party at Hassan and Markita's home. I told Imani now I was her grandmother too! We had a wonderful conversation and I told her that she and her daughter Mila were like a breath of fresh air and sunlight to me. She was happy and I told her I love her. From that time, each time we saw each other it was pure joy.
Psalm 49:15 But GOD will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive. Selah!!! 
Job 16:5 But I would strengthen you with my mouth, and the moving of my lips should assuage your grief.

I remember I first met you when I used to be in Bdubs with Jeff Keesler all the time, you always had a beautiful smile and always hugged me, we talked about your daughter and I know she was the light of your life. I used to see you give the guys well the regulars at bdubs a hug  and just that smile and hug  was all they needed to make there day, you were kind to everyone . And everyone loved you!  I will miss not seeing your  beautiful face, I didn’t see you much but it was always a pleasure when I did. Until we meet again.   RIP  XOXO❤️

My thoughts and prayers go out to Imani's family during this difficult time, you all were her world, especially her younger siblings. Imani was the first friend I made when I moved to Williamsburg in 8th grade. We ate lunch together every school day for 3 years after that. She was such a friendly bubbly person and a loyal and loving friend. God gained an angel and we are left to miss and mourn a wonderful kind hearted human being. I hope you may find comfort in each other during this time, my prayers are with you. 

Remember Imani and my daughter were friends back at Lafayette High School. She was a beautiful,kind young girl then and I know that her family will miss her terribly..Please be comforted with her life and memories that she has given this short time.  My heart and condolences at this time go out to her family I cannot imagine your loss but pray Gods peace and comfort to you all during this time.

Imani and I went to middle school together, i remember many fun sleepovers and playing dress up with her and her younger sister while spending time at their home in Williamsburg. Imani was a good friend to my sister and I and I’m so sorry to hear of her passing. 

Imani, we’ve had so many memories I can’t decide which is the best , all I want to say is you’ll never be forgotten and always be in my heart; thank you for always love excepting me from day one , you became one of my bestfriends  and I thank sam daily for introducing us , i know you’ll be watching over us, thank you for allowing me to be apart of milas life , please watch over paisley , my baby girl needs you, so hold her tight for me as I will be here for mila , I will always love you. 

Our daughter, Scarlett, had the pleasure of having Ms. Imani (“Miss Mani” as Scarlett called her) as her teacher in Orange Room. Ms. Imani was a constant source of love and comfort for the kids in that class. My older daughter, Hannah, is a classmate of Mila’s. She is such a sweet girl and you could tell how much she loved her mama. 

Ms. Imani - We thank you for all you did for our family. We are heartbroken and keeping your family in our thoughts and prayers.

Imani was so kind to me, always. She made everyone feel included and no matter what she was always smiling. Always sticking up for those who needed it. I have not seen her in years and still to this day I consider her someone I can always go to and someone I would always be there for. My heart is broken for her family and loved ones. She is definitely smiling down on us. I am so grateful to have been able to call that sweet girl a friend. ❤️

When I look back at our time together I think of food. On your first day at LeafSpring we were having a barbecue. We sat, ate, and got to know each other. Within the first 20 minutes I could see how much you loved sweet little Mila, and how passionate you were. This job was a new experience for you, but you were up for the challenge! Another time we randomly ran into each other on lunch break at the Caribbean restaurant. We chatted, vented, and laughed a lot! You wore your heart on your sleeve and was always very open. More food...after the holiday party we went out to eat (fries, sliders, etc) and had a great conversation. You confided in me and I will never forget your words. Imani, you will be missed! Whenever I eat hotdogs, burgers, curry chicken, fries, etc. I will think of you and smile!

I really treasured my time getting to know Imani, she was a beautiful woman inside and out, with and amazing smile and contagious laugh. I remember all the times when I was home I'd bring her chick fila or some horrible caribbean curry to her at the pizza place or the daycare to have lunch together.

I met Imani in college through a tight-knit group of friends and I'm smiling writing this because literally within seconds of meeting her you could tell she was someone who thoroughly loved and lived life. She was so energetic and good-spirited, it was so much fun to be around her. She cared deeply about the people she loved and was someone who wasn't afraid to be herself which is such a rare find. My condolences to the family, her passing is such a heavy loss in a time where we could all really use her spirit. Rest in peace hun, you will certainly never be forgotten and sorely missed. <3 

I remember telling Imani how much I want to cook her. We had fun playing and taking her to McDonald's. That smile was magical. My heartfelt thanks to God for giving her to us for the season. God bless you . Rest in peace no more worries. You left an angel behind. Thanks for the memories.

Imani was my best friend. And I was one of hers. She had plenty of friends who loved her and she loved them back 10 times fold. We have so many memories together. We had way more great amazing times than bad. A part of me is gone but I will always remember her through all the fun times we had together!

Imani was one of my dearest friends and is so sorely missed! She was the life of the party and could light up a  room! Imani was a amazing mother and a loyal friend! I met Imani years ago...she dated my son for a brief period but they always remained friends.  She was always very loving and quiet around him and showed him what love woas supposed to be...Friends first and they always had that connection.. I am so very sorry about your family's loss and she was the most beautiful soul.  

My daughter Lila was in Imani's class this year.  Lila couldn't say Ms. Imani so she called her Ms. Mommy - and Imani earned that title well.  She was so nurturing and caring with all of the kids in the class treating them like they were her own.  We had a great sense of comfort knowing that the kids would be safe and well loved while in Imani's care.   Her love for Mila was obvious to anyone who saw them together.  Imani was a special person and my family feels lucky to have had her touch our lives in such a meaningful way.  We will miss you so much Ms. Mommy!

I was Imani’s co-worker and mentor at Leaf Spring. She was a hard working, loving spirit with a beautiful smile. Her children loved and cared deeply for her! She was always willing to make the day in her classroom the best one yet! She will be truly missed by teachers, children, and parents alike. Sending love to the family, especially little Mila! 

 I met Imani in 2015 after finding out she was pregnant with my son's child. The day I met her, i instantly fell in love with her. We became roommates and great friends. I love her as if she were my own child. We shared so many wonderful times together. I am going to miss her so much. My heart broke into a million pieces when i found out she passed. She will forever be in my heart and in my thoughts. 

Imani was a beautiful person inside & out. She could light up any room she stepped into. I am thankful to Jeromy for introducing us. Her & I became close friends. She was an amazing mother to Mila. Her love for her daughter shined so bright. Heaven truly gained an angel. She will be missed. I love you my sweet Imani. You will not be forgotten. To her family, my deepest sympathies, prayers & big hugs are with y'all. 

Imani was a loving teacher at the school where my sons attend. She was always kind and had a smile on her face. She and her daughter had a special bond and it was fun to see them together at the school. Imani was a calming presence. Wishing comfort to her family and friends. And sending love to our friend Mila. We will miss her dearly.

Imani  was a teacher in the room collocated with my younger daughter’s class and her daughter Mila is a friend of my older daughter’s. Both girls love Ms.Imani and my older daughter was so jealous that Mila’s mommy works at her school. Imani always had a bright smile for the kids and radiated warmth. She leaves a big hole!

Imani was our daughters teacher this year. She was amazing with her and you could tell she really cared. Our little girl blossomed under her and loves her very much. Each day when we dropped her off she would run full speed to Imani for a hug. She will be greatly missed by our family. 

Imani was a sweet and caring individual. I always looked forward to working with her because of her energy and her beautiful smile. Your daughter is amazing just like you and may your spirit live on through her!!!  I love u
