I just found out about JT's passing. I am very sorry to hear the news.  JT coached me at Hampden-Sydney. He had a great spirit and was a kind man.

JT was a true pleasure to be around. Always a smile on his face! He will be missed.

I was devastated to hear of JT's tragic death.  My sympathies go out to his family and finacee', Ginny.  
JT was a dedicated volunteer for Family Matters, Inc., a ministry that works with the Central Virginia Food Bank to help feed the needy in the community.  Every fall JT would come with venison from Hunters for the Hungry to help with serving our clients.  We have certainly suffered a great loss with his passing.
He was also a coach with my son's homeschool football team, the Disciples, where his attributes were a great influence on the players. 
Personally, he could also lift my spirits when I feeling down.  I never saw him when he didn't have a joyful attitude, even when I knew he was suffering from his own medical problems.
I will miss him very much.  JT, may you rest in peace in Heaven.

I'd like to thank JT first for being a mentor to me when I was a scared seventh-grader in the Varina locker room. Second, I'd like to thank him for reconnecting with me when we were adults. He was such a great influence on so many people. His spirit will live on.

We first met JT when we started our Disciples journey in 2008.  He became a great part of our lives and helped me learn more about football. He loved and supported my sons, Kennie (Bulldog) and Ben (Molerat) wouldn't be where they are without you. You touched some many! Earle and I will miss you more than you know, but we will see you again one day!

Mr. Taylor was a great teacher and a wonderful person to learn from. He taught me and my sisters , coached me and my sisters, and kept in contact with us McGee girls throughout the years. Even on my rough days, he'd send me something to make me smile, or something to make me remember how blessed I am...I find comfort in knowing God had other plans for Mr. Taylor. When I look in the sky and see all the tie-dyed colors, I'll know he's smiling down..

Our loss is Heaven's gain.  JT truly shined goodness and joy upon all who knew him.  We are thankful to be among the many he touched during his life here among us.

Our deepest sympathies to the family.  JT was certainly one of a kind with a heart of gold.

I met 'JT' when he moved into an apartment at Berkeley Plantation many years ago. I had been on the football team at VT & of course he was a WaHoo - so we always had friendly football banter. He was nothing but a happy, generous, fun loving guy. The last time i communicated with him he was raising money to help take care of one of his children - i'm sure he was a great father. I'll always remember the good times we had living at Berkeley when we were younger. I'm very sorry for your loss - 'JT' was a good man.

So heartbroken with JT gone.  He always made us smile.  Our prayers are you all.

JT has been a part of our family since he and our son Terry met at UVa.

He will be sorely missed by all of us. As Terry often says they were "Brothers by different Mothers". We will keep his family and children in our prayers as they work their way through their loss in the many days ahead.

I am so sad to hear this.  We met Jimmy when our daughters were in preschool together at Laurel Hill.  He was a very kind, generous soul.  Always a kind word and a ray of sunshine to be around.  And always FUN!  Hugs to Zoe and Zack.  Your Dad was so proud of both of you!  You were both the love of his life and his world!

This is still so surreal for me! I've known Jimmy for 35 years and he always had a kind word to say and ALWAYS made me laugh! Gonna miss you big guy but I'm so blessed to have called you friend! I also know that I will see you again some day!!

My sincere condolences. I worked with Jim at Fairfield Middle School. I will always remember his smile, his laugh, and his teddy bear self ! He was always willing to help me with anything I needed and we shared a love of The University of Virginia. Wa Hoo Wa !

It was sad to here of Jimmy's passing. He will be missed by his VHS Blue Devil friends. He alway knew how to make people laugh and have a good time.

So sorry to hear of Mr.Taylors passing.He was my 7th grade science teacher at FMS & he always put a smile on everyones face & really cared for his students.He will be deeply missed.Sending prayers to his family & friends.
