Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Cutchin Anderson and Margaret Collins Anderson. He is survived by his sister, Margaret Anderson Mciver; brother-in-law, Bob Mciver; nephew, Matt Mciver; and niece, Paige Mciver. He is also survived by a host of beloved cousins and many friends who he dearly loved.
Scott was born September 27, 1950, in Richmond, Virginia. He made many lifelong friends and happy memories at J.R. Tucker High School, where he played football in the early years, and graduated in 1969. He the attended Chowan College and graduated in 1971.
Scott was a gifted carpenter and craftsman and used those skills to build and enhance businesses and homes in the Richmond area. He was a master at repairing and refinishing any object. In his later years he worked for the Goochland County School system in the maintenance division, where he retired to take care of his ailing father. He was a devoted son, generous brother, beloved uncle, and loyal friend. He enjoyed spending time at the river with friends, going to the beach with family, hunting, playing bridge, woodworking, and birding in his yard. He took great pleasure in feeding the squirrels, crows, and blue jays peanuts every day.
The family would like to express their deep appreciation to his neighbor, caregiver, and best friend, Jeanne McEntee, for the loving kindness, companionship and extraordinary care and daily management of his life and medical needs over the last four years. She undoubtedly kept him alive four years past his grim prognosis, for which we are so grateful.
Services will be held on Monday, May 23, 2022, at 11:00 at Skipwith Baptist Church, 1900 Skipwith Road. Family will receive friends thirty minutes before the service. Interment is in Westhampton Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made to Skipwith Baptist Church.
