CURTIS, Helen Harding, 84, of Quinton, passed away on October 19, 2013 at her home. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, John Henry and Agnes Harding; her brother, John Henry Jr.; her sister, Gaynell Harding Andre; and her nephew, John Henry III "Trey." She is survived by her husband and best friend of 63 years, Wade Curtis; her devoted sister-in-law, Carol Harding; loving uncle, Jim Worley; special nieces and nephews, Ted Andre (Michelle), James Andre, Susan Eudailey (Glen), Debbie Kerver (Ruud) and Tammy Stevens (Billy); along with her devoted cousin, Nita Barber. Helen also leaves behind her much-loved great-nieces and great-nephews, Mindy, Libby, Becca, Mitch, Drew, Samantha and Carsan. Helen was a long-time member of Landmark Baptist Church and a 50-year employee of the Life Insurance Company of Virginia. She was also a long-time NASCAR fan. Her generous and compassionate spirit will be missed by all who knew her. The family will receive friends at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., on Monday, October 21, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., where services will be held Tuesday, October 22, at 2 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made to the New Kent Volunteer Fire and Rescue, 4315 N.
