Harry Lee Tabor, 74, of Sandston passed away, in the early morning hours of July 14, 2014, from his battle with cancer. He was a man of many talents. He possessed a good humor, a keen mechanical mind, and enjoyed helping others. Awaiting him in heaven are his parents, Everett M. (Mack) Tabor and Nellie Boothe Tabor of Narrows, VA; his sister Brenda Morrison and her husband, Daniel Morrison. He is survived by his wife of more than 54 years, Nancy Coburn Tabor; his son, Christopher Tabor and his wife, Blythe; his grandchildren, Kennedy and Sawyer; his sister, Barbara A. Martin; his brother Michael S. Tabor; his brothers-in law, Frank Martin and Marshall Coburn; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is a graduate of Danville Technical Institute and is a former employee of both Varina Refrigeration and Air Conditioning and Dominion/Virginia Power (One James River Plaza). He was a member of Corinth United Methodist Church in Sandston. He loved fishing, bowling, golfing, and his grandchildren. He bowled for Corinth United Methodist Church in the Eastern Church League for approximately 50 years. In retirement, he often spent Thursday mornings playing golf. The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 16, from 5-8 pm at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave, Richmond, VA 23231. A service will be held Thursday, July 17, 11 am at Corinth United Methodist Church, 23 West Williamsburg Road. A Graveside funeral will be held Friday, July 18, 2014, 11 am at Fairview Cemetery, Narrows, VA. His family would like to thank everyone for their thoughts, prayers, and support over the last year.
