Grover we still miss you, our rides, our dinners and you calling me on my birthday. I hope you met Dad and Mom when they were called to Heaven. I hope Mom has made you some potato salad. Until we meet again. ♥️

Grover, we will miss you so much. We will miss our Friday night dinners, our rides, our phone calls and just being around each other. I will miss my birthday calls from you which I still have one in my voicemail. You were a good husband, father, brother and brother to Albert and me. We were all family. You were a fighter but I know you were tired. Please watch over us as we ride or when we just aren’t doing anything. If you want to just say hi, give me a sign and I will answer. Grover thanks for all the great times riding at Super Station 6! To be a young teenager riding with you on the open cab Truck Company 6 with you and your shift are times that are never forgotten.  So blessed to be apart of the Brotherhood with you all. Thanks for all the positive influence to me as a young kid who was a young Fire Explorer that was chasing a dream. I know I was young but those were some of the best times in my fire service journey. Now being a firefighter you will always be riding with me each day I get on the truck.  Thanks for everything!  Best wishes to your family and friends.

Jim and I will always remember Grover for coordinating so many rides, the most enjoyable of which was always the Urbanna Oyster Festival ride each year.   Grover would announce the ride at chapter meetings as the "U-Banna Festival" ride, and that alone would make us smile.  And we enjoyed his remembrance of (to him) a significant event on each year's ride, providing a funny story about the parking, the comraderie, the food, or whatever... always there to have FUN and make everyone comfortable and happy.  The same held true  for HOG rallies and chapter meetings!  Grover and Sharon were always THERE for the HOG family, and we for them.  Grover will be missed greatly.

I have many fond memories of Grover from back in the day in HFD and at Federal Armored Express where we worked part time.  A shot gun in an armored truck with a bunch of firefighters is a bad idea and thats all I will say about that :) Bass fishing with him was always fun too. He was a good Lt. to work for as well. I remember the fun times we had at Buggs Island Lake with the fishing tournaments.  The hot days and cool clear water and the kids tent camping on the beach.  Good Times with Good Friends we never realized how good it all was
When the kids were grown the Harleys took up our time with rides and rallies.
I grew up across the street from Sharon .. and Bubba ,  Grover,  and I graduated  High School together and later Bubba and Grover ended up in the Fire  Department working for Henrico County

He was preceded in death by his father, Grover G. Barnett, Sr.; his mother, Anise N. Williams; father-in-law, Walter E. Shaw; and his brother-in-law Robert Steinbrecher. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 50 years, Sharon S. Barnett; two sons, James (Michelle) and Kenneth (Vicki); four grandkids, Jacob, Justin, Taylor and Tyler; two step grandsons, Bryan Hallman and Connor Raulerson; his devoted sister, Gwen Steinbrecher; four nieces; three great nieces; two great nephews; one sister-in-law; one aunt, Erma Scott; and a lot of cousins.
