Gloria Nelson Martin

MARTIN, Gloria Mae Nelson, 77, departed this life on Sunday, November 26, 2017. Predeceased by her parents, Harrison Carter and Louise West Nelson, and her husband of 60 years, William D. (Buddy) Martin, she is survived by her son, Bud (Gigi) and grandson, Tyler, of Cleveland, OH, and son, Tim (Colleen) of Thomasville, NC. Also surviving are her sisters, Judy McGee of Chesterfield, VA, and Rhonda (Jerry) Payne of Wilmington, NC; several cousins, nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. She was a life-long resident of the Sandston, VA area and retired from Chevrolet Division of General Motors. She enjoyed sharing her handwork with family and friends, reading, crosswords and a jigsaw puzzle was always on her card table. There will be a visitation on Saturday, December 9, 2017 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Nelsen funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA 23231. At her request, there will be no formal service held. Please perform an act of kindness in her memory. In lieu of flowers if you wish, donations can be made to either the USO or Shriner’s Hospital.
