Glenda Owens Couch, of Mechanicsville, went peacefully to be with her Lord on February 2, 2018. She was predeceased by her loving mother, Pauline Estelle Owens. She is survived by her caring father, Joseph Glenn Owens; devoted sister and best friend, Vickie Owens Martin; son, Christopher Brian Couch (Brianna) and their children, Eva MaeBelle and Elsie Lillian; daughter, Lisa Couch Augst (Michael); nieces, Jo-Lyn Martin Murphy (George) and their children, Noah, Wylder, Meadow, and Remi; Jana Martin (Andrew Wood); and nieces and nephews, Christy Davis, Danielle Saunders, Joseph Woody, Daniel Couch, Matthew Couch and their families. She is also survived by the father of her children, Paul W. Couch. Glenda was a faithful member of New Bridge Baptist Church and was an active participant in the Tuesday Bible Study at WEAG. She felt supported and comforted by the multitude of cards and prayers she received from her church family at NBBC, the prayer warriors at TBS and her many friends and family. She loved helping others and gave generously to those in need. Glenda enjoyed going to the movies with good friends, Myrtle Beach with family, and Charleston, SC with her sister-in-law and sidekick, Debra Woody. She deeply loved and was committed to her family; her greatest joy was being a beloved Mimi to Eva and Elsie, who held her heart. Visitation and funeral services will take place at Nelsen Funeral Home on 4650 South Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA 23231. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 6th from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and again from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A funeral service to celebrate her amazing life will be held Wednesday, February 7th at 10:00 AM and will be immediately followed by an interment service at Washington Memorial Park. A reception will follow at New Bridge Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in her memory to New Bridge Baptist Church Vision 2019 at 5701 Elko Rd., Sandston, VA 23150 or St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Rest well, Gonna, now in Heaven with Nanny. We will cherish our sweet memories of you forever. You are our HERO and THE BEST Mom ever.
