I will truly miss Gerald.  I met Gerald while he was shopping in the Bombay store in Regency Square Mall.   When I got married, I lost touch with him.  During our brief friendship, we spent time together each week back in the years 2000-2004 (approx.).  Over those years, I learned a lot about Gerald and his life (the good and bad).  I always enjoyed the time I spent with him, and can remember chauffering him around in his red Saab and then a Cadillac, headed to Norfolk for dinner or to the Jefferson or Julian's right here in Richmond.  What a sweetheart he was, and I have always wanted to drop back by and check on him, but never did, so now, I can only hope that he is finally at peace.    Your old friend, Fran Mathews

I truly wish that we could have met your sweet father but I feel like I knew him with all the funny stories that we heard over the years while you were with Ryan. I sort of feel as if I should have apologized to him for the hard time my son gave him all those years while dating you! I guess Ryan did finally grow on him a little bit and I know Ryan thought a lot of your dad as well. I'm sure he welcomed your dad into Heaven with a great big smile and a warm embrace. Won't they have lots to talk about?! I wish so badly that we could be at his memorial service and although no words can really help to ease the pain in your heart, just know that you are very close in every thought and prayer. I hope that you will find comfort in knowing how blessed you were to have such a wonderful full life with your dad, filled with lots of great memories. I know he loved you dearly. I never had the honor of meeting Mr. Wilton, however, I have been a close friend of his lovely daughter Aynsley, for many years.  She my third daughter. Rest in peach and love Mr. Wilton, for your youngest will be well taken care of by everyone's lives she has touched.  You gave her a lot of you!  She learned well from her father.  Mr. Wilton, she will carry your love in her heart for the rest of her life and beyond.  Thank you for offering a great blessing to the world with your daughter, Aynsley.
