George Miles Corey

George Miles Corey, 86, of Henrico, died Thursday, April 14, 2016. He was preceded in death by his wives, Margaret Bright Corey and Jane Major Corey; also 2 sisters and a brother. Mr. Corey is survived by his daughter, Judy Corey Fitzgerald; grandsons, John and James Boyd; a granddaughter, Jennifer Jones; 5 great-grandchildren, Shinice Jones, Parker Boyd, Aaliyah, Otis Jr., and Otis III Douglas; 3 brothers, 2 sisters; several nieces and nephews; he is also survived by Jane’s children, David Major (Dale), Mark Major, and Judy Coleman (Joe). Mr. Corey was a U. S. ARMY veteran, serving in World War II and Korea; a faithful member and Deacon of Skipwith Baptist Church; and retired from GRTC. Many thanks to the personal caregivers of Asera Care Hospice. The family will receive friends 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Road, where services will be conducted 10:30 a.m. Monday. Interment in Westhampton Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
