Evelyn Courtney Cheek, 82, of Varina, passed away May 7, 2014. Evelyn is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Edward V. Cheek; sons, Edward L. Cheek and his wife, Rita F. Cheek, William S. Cheek; daughter, Mary C. Markey and her husband, James R. Markey; three grandchildren, Edward N. Cheek, Stephen J. Markey, and Jennifer L. Markey; three great-grandchildren, Kayden H. Cheek, Gage C. Cheek, and Blake C. Cheek; sisters, Mary Hazelwood, Catherine Williams, Barbara Scott and her husband, Blaken Scott. Visitation will be Saturday, May 10, 2-8 p.m. and Sunday, May 11, 2-8 p.m., at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S Laburnum Ave, Richmond, VA, where a funeral service will be conducted Monday, May 12 at 11 a.m. Interment in Maury Cemetery.
