Erlene Lowery "Nanny" Gentry
March 21, 1930 – June 15, 2019

89, of Quinton, native of Windsor, VT, passed away peacefully at home with her family on Saturday, June 15, 2019. She retired as a cafeteria worker and school bus driver for New Kent County for over 30 years, where she met and loved her many school kids. She was able to drive all of her grandkids to school except for one, and he missed the bus, lol. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church and was an avid doll collector. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandkids. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Gentry; parents, Raymond and Eva Lowery; and brothers, William, Robert and Kenneth Lowery and is survived by her children, J. Thomas Gentry (Joy), Sherry Mills (Jimmy), Kim Via and Robert Gentry (Tina); grandchildren, Stephanie, Raymond, Christopher, Kristyn, Rachel, Rebecca, Ryan, Melanie, Tabitha, Amanda, Hannah, and Matthew; nine great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Irene Driver. A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, June 19, at 1 p.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Quinton. Interment will follow in Washington Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Monastery Poor Clare, 5500 Holly Fork Road, Barhamsville, VA 23011 or IVNA Medication Fund, 5008 Monument Ave., Richmond, VA 23230.
