Dorothy Ellen Saunders Garnett

Dorothy Ellen Saunders Garnett, 93, of Mechanicsville, VA passed away on Monday, July 25, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, one sister, and her beloved husband of 70 years, Stuart Kramer Garnett, Sr. Mom was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. She worked for Famous Foods of Virginia for 40 years. Mom loved to cook, especially Sunday dinners. She enjoyed gathering with family and friends, especially during holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas, when the aroma of Mom’s cooking mingled with love and laughter to fill our home. Mom was loved by everyone who knew her. She will be dearly missed. Mom is survived by two sons, Butch and Ronnie Garnett; one daughter, Judy Garnett; granddaughters, Kimberly Lowe and Amanda Garnett; grandson, Shawn Garnett; great grandchildren, Keaton, Lainey, and Kenley Lowe; sister, Tootie Cottrell; brother, Charles Stuart Saunders; cousin, Shirley Overton; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thank you to everyone with At Home Care Hospice, Autumn Care of Mechanicsville and Discovery Village at the West End for providing compassionate care to our Mom.
