Dorothy Cosner Burton

BURTON, Dorothy Cosner, 99, went to be with her Lord on January 20, 2017. She is survived by son, Robert Burton (Joyce); daughter, Ann Burgess; daughter-in-law, Patricia Burton; six grandchildren, Daniel Burton, Rhonda Byiers, Stephanie Martin, Ronald Martin Jr., Janet Newton, Allison Wolfe; seven great-grandchildren and one sister, Bula Burton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cornelius Lytle Burton; son, Donald Burton; three brothers and one sister. She lived her faith daily by serving others and was known for her quick wit and positive outlook. Her greatest joy was her family and counted them second only to her faith in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, January 23, at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Road, Richmond, Va. 23229, with her Burial Committal held at the funeral home directly following the service. Family will receive friends on Sunday, January 22, from 2 to 5 p.m., at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105.
