Deanna Hicks Parr

Deanna Hicks Parr, 74, of Richmond, went to be with the Lord and join the love of her life on Monday, September 9, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Garland Parr; parents, Bertha and Virgil Hicks; and grandson, Curtis Anthony Parr. Deanna was a retired school bus driver for Henrico County. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, and loved to play cards. Deanna is survived by her sons, Franklin Stuart Parr and Curtis Garland Parr (Angela Lynn Parr); daughter, Scarlett Parr Porter (James White Porter, Jr.); grandchildren, Kenneth Russell Parr, Deanna Diane Porter, and Emily & Brandon Hoover; and sisters, Shirley Hicks Magaha and Courtney Ann Disabito, as well as many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Avenue Richmond, Va 23231, where a funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 12 at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel. Interment will follow in Washington Memorial Park.
