Obituary of David Charles Williford
On December 3rd, 2022, The Lord and Savior Jesus led David Charles Williford home to heaven. He was preceded there by his wife Deborah, and his parents Charles and Betty. He is survived by his brother Douglas, and his girlfriend Cynthia Brittain. David was born in Washington, D.C. and grew up in the Northern Virginia area, where he graduated from North Stafford High School. His love of drawing and art led him to earn a degree in painting and printmaking from Virginia Commonwealth University. He held several jobs in Richmond after college, including Micromagnetic, Inc. and R.A. Services, Inc. The latter led him into his career as a medical insurance coder where he excelled in the profession. Due to his prowess, he was sought after and has held management positions in Las Vegas, NV, and Hartford, CT. He returned to the Richmond area to be nearer to his family, but continued work in the field until his passing. He was much respected by his peers. In addition to drawing and art which he continued throughout his life, David loved toys and had a silly sense of humor. He had also developed a large diverse collection of vinyl records. He was a long-time devoted fan of the Richmond Kickers professional soccer team. His career and interests, and his outgoing personality made him many friends who will miss him dearly. Christmas time was his favorite time of year. As such, we will celebrate his life in the Christmas spirit. Feel free to wear to the memorial any seasonal attire to any degree of sincerity or silliness - birth of Jesus, ugly sweaters, reindeer antlers, etc. These are all things he would appreciate in his remembrance. A memorial service for David will be held Saturday, December 17, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Woody Funeral Home - Parham, 1771 North Parham Road, Richmond, VA 23229. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.woodyfuneralhomeparham.com for the Williford family.
