David Lee Austin

David was born on March 11, 1972 in Richmond, Virginia. David was an experienced and talented carpenter and home builder who could often be found at a NASCAR race, watching football, or on the golf course. He enjoyed spending time with his family, the outdoors, and was an avid fisherman.

David is survived by his father, David Russell “Rusty” Austin and stepmother Pamela Austin; children, David Gage Austin and Kaylee Raine Austin; siblings, Crystal Lynn Skipper, Russell Scott Austin, Jennifer Anne Myles, Kristie Gail Daily; Aunts and Uncle, Victoria Duff, Angela Austin, Kathy Hughes, Raymond J. Quarles; many cousins, nephews, nieces; and a special friend, Beth Matthews.

He was predeceased by his grandfather, Edward Lee Austin; grandparents, Robert and Teresa McCormick; mother, Karen Sue Maxwell; Great Uncle, Myers “Bubba” Austin; and former spouse, Brandy Saunders.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 22, 2023 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, Virginia 23231 where a funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at 2 p.m.

Interment will follow in Washington Memorial Park.
